A FRIEND OF MINE IS THE HEAD OF THIS ORGANIZATION AND THEY ARE PUTTING BACK PACKS TOGETHER FOR CHILDREN IN MEXICO. I WATCHED THEM ASSEMBLE SOME OF THEN LAST YEAR IT WAS A REAL PRODUCTION. ALOT OF HARD WORK GOES INTO THIS PROJECT IF YOU CAN HELP THEM OUT THAT WOULD BE GREAT. ALL THE INFO IS BELOW

2008 Rainbow Drive Kicks Off for August School Supplies

Hi everyone,

It's already that time, and we're kicking off the annual school supplies drive for 2008. We really need school supplies and backpacks, and we're looking to assemble them the last week in August, so we've got about a month to get supplies for 500 backpacks. There really is no way to underestimate the importance of these school supplies to the children. We know, the teachers know it, and of course the kids know it. You should see them when they get their backpacks--it's Christmas in September, and I really believe they're just as excited.



Please help make a child's education a reality this year. Whether you're near us locally in southern CA or if you're anywhere in the country, you can still help. You can ship supplies or you can send cash that is designated for school supplies, and we'll guarantee that 100% goes to filling the backpacks. If you need help shipping supplies, let us know, and we'll work with you and a friendly shipper.

We've been gathering supplies already, but here's a list of the items and quantities we still need:

Backpacks--100
Wooden Pencils--3600
Ballpoint pens--1600
Filler paper (at least 150 packs)--150
Rulers--150
Calculators--240
Crayons (16 packs)--200
Erasers--350
Pencil Sharpeners--100
Scissors--120

That's a lot of stuff, but with your help, we can do it. You can call me to arrange shipping or pickup or bring supplies with you to the assembly party. (Date and time to be announced soon.) Make sure you let me know your counts of supplies so I can add them to our inventory and make sure we've met our goals for each item.
