A FRIEND OF MINE IS THE HEAD OF THIS ORGANIZATION AND THEY ARE PUTTING BACK PACKS TOGETHER FOR CHILDREN IN MEXICO. I WATCHED THEM ASSEMBLE SOME OF THEN LAST YEAR IT WAS A REAL PRODUCTION. ALOT OF HARD WORK GOES INTO THIS PROJECT IF YOU CAN HELP THEM OUT THAT WOULD BE GREAT. ALL THE INFO IS BELOW

2008 Rainbow Drive Kicks Off for August School Supplies

Hi everyone,

It's already that time, and we're kicking off the annual school supplies drive for 2008. We really need school supplies and backpacks, and we're looking to assemble them the last week in August, so we've got about a month to get supplies for 500 backpacks. There really is no way to underestimate the importance of these school supplies to the children. We know, the teachers know it, and of course the kids know it. You should see them when they get their backpacks--it's Christmas in September, and I really believe they're just as excited.



Please help make a child's education a reality this year. Whether you're near us locally in southern CA or if you're anywhere in the country, you can still help. You can ship supplies or you can send cash that is designated for school supplies, and we'll guarantee that 100% goes to filling the backpacks. If you need help shipping supplies, let us know, and we'll work with you and a friendly shipper.

We've been gathering supplies already, but here's a list of the items and quantities we still need:

PRAYER REQUEST FROM FOURSQUARE INTERNATIONAL

A Foursquare worker in Afghanistan recently reported that there was an attack on the Afghanistan outreach center. Insurgents raided the center with bazookas, killing the Muslim night watchman, and capturing and brutally torturing three of the center's key leaders.

Upon release, two of those captured were hospitalized in Afghanistan and the third was air-lifted to Pakistan to receive hospitalization. The center was severely damaged in the attack--half of the library was burned and windows were broken. Miraculously, though, two computers were spared. The landlord for the property is assisting in the situation, and has promised to back the center until the situation is rectified.

The Foursquare worker will fly to Pakistan as soon as visas are made available to assist the leader who is hospitalized there.

Please pray for: the swift recovery of those hospitalized, the worker to obtain a visa quickly (currently there is a six month ban on entrance into Pakistan), the protection of those who are affiliated with the outreach center, and a quick rebuilding of the center.

I CAME HOME FROM CHURCH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN A WAVE OF DEPRESSION CAME OVER ME SO BAD THAT I CAN NOT SLEEP.

IT HAS BEEN A ROUGH WEEK OR SO. MY BLOOD SUGARS HAVE BEEN OUT OF CONTROL. THEY HAVE BEEN RANGING FROM 60 TO 300 ALL UP A DOWN . i HAVE TO GO IN FOR MORE TESTING I AM NOT ABLE TO GET IT UNDER CONTROL LAST WEEK WEDNESDAY IT BOTTOMED OUT SO BAD, BUT O F COURSE I HAD NOT EAT FOR OVER A DAY.DUE TO LACK OF MONEY FOR FOOD. BUT GOD DID SUPPLY THE NEED TO GET SOME FOOD. THEN SATURDAY MY TV JUST DIED, I DONT WATCH THAT MUCH TV BUT IT IS NICE TO HAVE AT NIGHT ,,,,BUT GOD MADE A WAY FOR SOME FRIENDS TO GIVE ME A TV. AND THEN OF COURSE MY COMPUTER CRASHED A FEW WEEKS AGO, AND GOD SUPPLIED THE NEED THERE TOO.

THE MESSAGE TONIGHT WAS ABOUT HOW WE ARE ALIVE IN CHRIST. AND HOW HE HAS RAISED UP TO HEAVENLY PLACES. HOW WE WERE DEAD IN OUR SINS BUT CHRIST MADE THE WAY TO BE RECONCILED BACK TO GOD.

KNOWING THAT I AM A CHILD OF GOD AND FRIEND OF GOD. AND I SEE HOW HE DID SUPPLY MY NEEDS ABOVE WHY AM I DEPRESSED. WHY AM I SITTING HERE WITH TEARS RUNNING DOWN MY FACE
FROM DEPRESION. YEAH MAYBE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH MY BLOOD SUGARS BEING OFF.

MY MIND IS TELLING ME THERE IS NEXT WEEK WHAT WILL I DO NEXT WEEK HOW WILL I MAKE IT THROUGH. GOD HAS PROVED HIMSELF HOW COME I CAN NOT BELIEVE HE WILL GET ME THROUGH NEXT WEEK AS WELL. I KNOW I HAVE PEOPLE WHO LOVE ME AND CARE ABOUT YET THE DEVIL IS TRYING TO TELL ME AGAIN TONIGHT YOU ARE ALL ALONE. THAT IS NOT TRUE. I MY NOT HAVE BLOOD FAMILY....BUT I DO HAVE A CHRISTIAN FAMILY WHO CARES,, LIKE I SAID THE ENEMY IS COMING IN LIKE WILD FIRE TONIGHT SAYING DIFFERENT. I TRY TO TAKE THOSE THOUGHTS CAPTIVE AND I FEEL LIKE I AM BEATING MY HEAD AGAINST THE WALL.

EARTHQUAKE

YEP WE HAD A 5.4 EARTHQUAKE TODAY CENTERED IN LOS ANGELES. MINOR DAMAGE THEY SAY. SCARED CHIP TO DEATH. WE SHOOK HERE BUT NOT ENOUGH TO HURT ANYTHING. IT IS STILL A BIT NERVE RACKING WHEN IT HAPPENS. AT LEAST WHEN I LIVED IN MICHIGAN YOU KNEW WHEN TORNADOS WERE ABOUT TO HAPPEN YOU HAD SOME WARNING BUT NOT WITH EARTHQUAKES.

SUNDAY SILLINESS....OK IM BORED ALRIGHT

JUST WANTED TO HAVE SOME FUN THIS AFTERNOON SPENT ALOT IN URGENT CARE THIS WEEK MY BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS ARE OUT OF CONTROL. THEY GO WAY LOW THEN WAY TO HIGH. I HAVE TO GO FOR A 8 HOUR GLUTOSE TEST TOMORROW, TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY DIABETES. WHAT A WEEK I HAD.
BUT GOD IS FAITHFUL TO SUPPLY I FOUND THAT OUT.
RAN OUT OF MONEY FOR FOOD..... GOD SUPPLIED
LAST WEEK COMPUTER CRASHED......GOD SUPPLIED
BLOOD SUGARS LEVEL CRASHED......TESTING TOMORROW.
MY TV DIED YESTERDAY............GOD WILL SUPPLY.. SOMEONE HAS ONE THEY WILL GIVE ME ONE OF MY PIANO STUDENTS SAID THEY HAD AN EXTRA ONE.

TODAY DEPRESSION IS TRYING TO GET THE BEST OF ME AGAIN AND I KNOW SOME OF IT HAS TO DO WITH MY HEALTH. AND MY LONLINESS, I WISH THERE WAS SOMEONE AROUND RIGHT NOW JUST TO SIT AND HAVE COFFEE WITH OR SOMETHING. BUT GOD WILL SUPPLY I KNOW THAT HE HAS PROVED HIMSELF TO MANY TIMES THIS PAST TWO WEEKS.

Jesus I surrender all. all my:
fears, doubts, lonliness, depression , panic attacks, all my thoughts of suicide. all my talents in music, my life my all Lord I surrender All to you and to your power. my job, my finances. Lord I surrender it all. Help me to surrender it all dailiy.

sorry I guess i just had to write tonight. I drove down by the pier really just wanting to jump off. Had a total meltdown. Just cried out to Jesus. and this song just coming to my mind,

Psalm 91

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD,

“He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge -- then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

“Because he loves me,“ says the LORD, ”I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation” (NIV).

THIS IS MY FAVORITE PSALM. THESE ARROWS OF DEPRESSION WILL NOT HARM ME. IT MAY BRING ME LOW FOR AWHILE BUT THEY WILL NOT BRING ME DOWN.

I MAY NOT BE AROUND MUCH MY HARD DRIVE IS GOING AND CAN NOT REPLACE COMPUTER RIGHT NOW. ALSO, AM HAVING MAJOR DEPRESSION PROBLEMS RIGHT NOW. WILL BE ON AS I CAN IT STILL WORKS AS NOW BUT IF GIVING ME WARNIGNS TO BACK THINGS UP SINCE A FAILURE IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. OH WELL.
