I find it amazing that this photo, taken so many years ago, actually still exists!
And now someone has put it online for all of us to see.
This INCREDIBLE picture was taken in 1918.
It is 18,000 men preparing for war in a training camp at Camp Dodge in Iowa . EIGHTEEN THOUSAND MEN !!!!!

THIS WAS SENT TO ME IN AN EMAIL. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS REALLY HAPPEN BUT IT IS A GOOD PRAYER ANYWAY.
This Pastor has Guts
It seems prayer still upsets some people. Please read....
When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session
of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but
This is what they heard;
We come before you today
To ask your forgiveness and
To seek your direction and guidance.
We know Your Word says,
'Woe to those who call evil good'
But that is exactly what we have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium
And reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and
Called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness
And called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn
And called it choice.
We have shot abortionists
And called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline
Our children and called it
Building self esteem.
We have abused power
And called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbour's
Possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air
With profanity and
Pornography and called it
Freedom of speech and expression.
We have ridiculed the time
Honoured values of our
Forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh, God,
And know our hearts today;
Cleanse us from every sin
And set us free.
The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked
out during the prayer in protest.
In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev.
Wright is Pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those
calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving
International requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa and Korea.
Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio Program,
'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this
program than any other he has ever aired.
Jhn 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jhn 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
I know there are other verses, Maybe Okie could help me out.
I believe in the Trinity don't totally understand it. but I do have one question when we get to heaven will we see one or three people. Will we see all three Father Son and HOly Spirit or just one person?

I GOT THIS OFF LARK NEWS.
Joseph Smith returns to assert finer points of doctrine
SALT LAKE CITY — Mormon faith founder Joseph Smith paid a surprise visit to the church's Council of the Twelve Apostles in May, appearing to them in a collective vision and insisting they return to key teachings which have fallen out of favor.
According to eyewitnesses, Smith insisted that:
-the church embrace its founding teaching that the "Negro race" is descended from Cain, and that "black people are black because of their misdeeds in the pre-existence;"
-polygamy is the preferred mode of living, and is acceptable to God as it was in Abraham's day;
-Jesus is Satan's brother, and their fight over this planet is a brotherly tussle for control.
Smith also commanded the Apostles to launch an "It's Your Planet" evangelistic drive to recruit new members, based on the organization's belief that in the afterlife each Mormon believer will oversee a planet or planetary system.
The Apostles emerged from the meeting ashen-faced.
"He put us in a difficult spot," said one. "Our mainstreaming efforts have not met with his approval."
President Gordon Hinckley, whom Mormons consider a prophet, immediately sequestered himself in his office, "like a whipped puppy," said one worker.
Smith's two-hour sermon also included lighter moments. Smith confided that he "wasn't getting as much tail" in the afterlife as he had with his 30-plus wives on Earth, and that the planet he'd been assigned was icy and desolate, far away from God "who finds me annoying," he said. Smith also said he'd tried to send the gold plates on which he'd received his "gospel" back to earth, but they'd been lost in the mail. He lamented that he'd declined package insurance and encouraged the elders to use FedEx whenever possible.
In recent years, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has tried to position itself in the Christian mainstream, distancing itself from beliefs some find outmoded. Those efforts could be disrupted by Smith's latest revelation, observers say. •

PASTOR RYAN'S DAD WENT HOME TO BE WITH JESUS,,,,,I COPIED THIS FROM HIS BLOG I HOPE HE DOES NOT MIND.
FROM PASTOR RYAN BLOG
Thank You to all that have prayed for my dad, mom, and family through my dad’s battle with brain cancer. Jesus called him home this morning at 6:30am. He died peacefully and during this whole ordeal he never complained; that was my dad he never wanted to draw attention to himself or make others feel sorry for him. My dad had a real selfless character about him and although he had many struggles he personified many attributes of Christ that I desire to model in my own life.
Please continue to pray for my mom and the unbelieving family and friends that will attend his memorial, as the gospel will most certainly be proclaimed. I pray that they are pierced in their hearts. The Lord has already used my dad’s sickness to touch many lives and I know that his death will do the same.
Thank You again…ryan

California Clerks Stay Open Extra Hours to Grant Marriage Licenses to Dozens of Same-Sex Couples
Monday, June 16, 2008
E-Mail Print Share:
Phyllis Lyon, left, and Del Martin, right, swear that the information on their marriage application is correct at City Hall in San Francisco.
SAN FRANCISCO — Dozens of gay couples were married Monday after a landmark ruling making California the second state to allow same-sex nuptials went into effect.
At least five county clerks around the state extended their hours to issue marriage licenses, and many same-sex couples got married on the spot.
"These are not folks who just met each other last week and said, `Let's get married.' These are folks who have been together in some cases for decades," said Kate Kendell, executive director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights.
The May 15 California Supreme Court ruling overturning bans on same-sex marriage took effect at 5:01 p.m.
The really big rush to the altar was not expected to take place until Tuesday, which is when most counties planned to start issuing marriage licenses to gay couples. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of couples from around the country are expected to seize the opportunity to make their unions official in the eyes of the law.
In San Francisco, Mayor Gavin Newsom, who helped launch the series of lawsuits that led the court to strike down California's one-man-one-woman marriage laws, presided at the wedding of Del Martin, 87, and Phyllis Lyon, 84.
Newsom picked the couple for the only ceremony in City Hall Monday in recognition of their long relationship and their status as pioneers of the gay rights movement. More than 600 same-sex couples have made appointments to get marriage licenses in San Francisco over the next 10 days.
Martin sat in her wheelchair during the ceremony in Newsom's office, which was open to a few elected officials, reporters and friends.
After the mayor pronounced them "spouses for life," the couple kissed, drawing huge applause.
Newsom called officiating the wedding "this extraordinary and humbling gift."
Meanwhile outside City Hall, a crowd of well-wishers gathered to wish the happy couple congratulations.
A handful of people opposed to gay marriage were also there. Some held signs with statements including "Jesus said go and sin no more."
Just hours before the ruling went into effect, a conservative legal group asked a Sacramento court to order the California agency that oversees marriages to stop issuing gender-neutral marriage licenses.
Gary Kreep of the San Diego County-based United States Justice Foundation said his group filed a petition on behalf of five county supervisors from Yuba, Stanislaus, Nevada and Sutter counties. The petition argues the state Department of Public Health failed to hold legally required public hearings on the licenses and claims legislators must amend state marriage laws before the licenses are valid.
A hearing on the matter was scheduled for Tuesday.
Also Monday, a conservative Christian law firm and a church joined in faxing letters to county clerk offices, telling them that they do not have to do work related to same-sex marriages if it violates their religious beliefs.
Despite the last minute legal efforts, dozens of same-sex couples were married in ceremonies at city offices in San Francisco, Alameda, Sonoma, Los Angeles and Yolo counties.
Derek Norman, 23 and Robert Blaudow, 39, from Memphis, Tenn., were in the Bay Area for a conference and decided to get married at the Alameda County clerk's office.
"We might wait a long time in Tennessee, so this is our chance," Blaudow said.
First in line to pick up a marriage license in Sonoma were Melanie Phoenix, 47, and Terry Robinson, 48, of Santa Rosa. They have been together for almost 26 years and plan to wed in August.
"It's an historic occasion," Phoenix said. "I never believed it was really possible until Gavin Newsom took the first step in 2004."
In February 2004, Newsom decided to challenge California's marriage laws by issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
In the month that followed, more than 4,000 same-sex couples were married before a judge acting on petitions brought by gay marriage opponents halted the city's spree. The state Supreme Court ultimately voided those unions, but two dozen couples sued and those lawsuits led the same court last month to overturn California's ban on gay marriage.
Among the plaintiffs in those lawsuits was a couple married Monday in a Jewish ceremony in front of the Beverly Hills courthouse.
The ceremony between Robin Tyler and Diane Olson was broadcast live on three newscasts in Los Angeles.
The couple wept and pressed their foreheads together, and onlookers whooped as the marriage became valid.
Rabbi Denise Eger saluted the couple for "these many years of coming to this very place and standing on these courthouse steps year after year of being denied this right, this civil right."

MY MIND REFUSES TO WORK TODAY SO I AM PASSING THIS EMAIL ON THAT ONE OF MY PIANO STUDENTS SENT ME, IT IS KINDA CUTE.
Summary of Life
GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED:
1) No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats.
2) When your Mom is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair.
3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person.
4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato.
5) You can't trust dogs to watch your food.
6) Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair.
7) Never hold a Dust-Buster and a cat at the same time.
8) You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.
9) Don't wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts.
10) The best place to be when you're sad is Grandpa's lap.
GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:
1) Raising teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree.
2) Wrinkles don't hurt.
3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts.
4) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.
5) Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.
6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy.
GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD
1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.
2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.
3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there.
4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.
5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.
6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.
7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.
THE FOUR STAGES OF LIFE:
1) You believe in Santa Claus.
2) You don't believe in Santa Claus.
3) You are Santa Claus.
4) You look like Santa Claus.
At age 4 success is ... not piddling in your pants.
At age 12 success is ... having friends.
At age 17 success is ... having a drivers license.
At age 35 success is ... having money.
At age 50 success is . having money.
At age 70 success is ... having a drivers license.
At age 75 success is ... having friends.
At age 80 success is ... not piddling in your pants.
Pass this on to someone who could use a laugh.
Always remember to forget the troubles that pass your way;
BUT NEVER forget the blessings that come each day.
Have a wonderful day with many *smiles*
ALSO I HAD SOME MEDICAL TEST YESTERDAY AND WILL LET YOU ALL KNOW THE OUTCOME WHEN I KNOW. PLEASE PRAY IT WAS SOME SERIOUS TESTING.

Large fire breaks out at Universal Studios
Theme park will open later at noon.
Comments 5| Recommend 2
UNIVERSAL CITY A massive fire tore through a back lot at Universal Studios early today, destroying a set from "Back to the Future," the King Kong exhibit and a video vault containing more than 40,000 videos and reels.
The blaze broke out on a backlot sound stage in a set featuring New York brownstone facades around 4:30 a.m. at the 400-acre property, but was contained later in the day, Los Angeles County Fire Chief Michael Freeman said.
Roughly 40,000 to 50,000 videos and reels were damanged in the vault, but there were duplicates stored in a different location, NBC Universal President and Chief Operating Officer Ron Meyer said.
"Nothing is lost forever," he said.
Meyer said the park would open at noon, three hours later than usual. On a typical weekend day about 25,000 people visit the theme park. However, tram tours would avoid the King Kong attraction, Universal spokesman Eliot Sekuler said.
The videos included every film that Universal has produced and footage from television series like "Miami Vice" and "I Love Lucy." Firefighters recovered hundreds of those titles from the vault, Freeman said.
The iconic courthouse square from "Back to the Future," was also destroyed, Freeman said, and the famous clock tower that enabled star Michael J. Fox's character to time travel was damaged.
Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Daryl Jacobs said as many as three blocks of movie facades were desroyed, including two mock New York and New England streets used for filmmaking and tourist displays.
A commercial shoot was going on when the fire broke out, Sekuler said. The cause of the fire was under investigation. Universal Studios is located nine miles north of downtown Los Angeles and has thrill rides and a back lot where movies and television shows are filmed. One of the more familiar backlot attractions is the house featured in "Psycho."
Scenes from several blockbuster films and television shows have been filmed at the studios, including "War of the Worlds," "When Harry met Sally" and "Scrubs."
The fire, however, will not affect the 2008 MTV Movie Awards, which is to broadcast live tonight at 5 from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, according to the music network.
More than 100 firefighters tried to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby brush. A thick column of smoke rose thousands of feet into the air and for a time, helicopters swept in to drop water. Three firefighters suffered minor injuries.
