THE TRINITY

Jhn 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jhn 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

I know there are other verses, Maybe Okie could help me out.

I believe in the Trinity don't totally understand it. but I do have one question when we get to heaven will we see one or three people. Will we see all three Father Son and HOly Spirit or just one person?

From the very beginning of the Bible we have confirmation to the trinity. Here are some verses in the Old Testament:

Genesis 1:26: "Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness..."
Genesis 3:22: "Then the Lord God said, Behold the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil..."
Genesis 11:7: "Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."
Isaiah 6:8: "...Whom shall I send, and who shall go for Us?"

Now in Isaiah 40:13-14 we read: "Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, or as His counselor has taught Him? With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him, and taught Him in the path of justice? Who taught Him knowledge, and showed Him the way of understanding?" The answer is of course, no one. Since God is all sufficient He has need for no one to counsel, advise or teach Him. He is all knowing. Who then is He speaking to when He uses the word Us?

Since the verse in Isaiah is true, God cannot be speaking to anyone other that Himself - the Us is of course, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In these verses God is using plural pronouns in speaking of Himself. This also is confirmation of the doctrine of the Trinity in the Old Testament.

Verses in the Old Testament and the New Testament:
Isaiah 6:3: "...Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His Glory."
Revelation 4:8: "...Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!"

In both the heavenly scene is depicted with the angels praising God round about His throne. Why is holy declared three times in each case? Why not just one time, for the one true God? Or why not seven times, the number seven referring to completeness, signifying complete and total praise to God? Could it have reference to the Trinity? Could three declarations of holy be praise to the Persons of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit? We believe that this is indeed the case and that once again the Old Testament declares the doctrine of the Trinity and in this case, the New Testament confirms it.

Consider Matthew 28:19: "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit..." This verse states both the oneness of God as well as the triunity of God by associating equally the three Persons and uniting them in one singular name.

Consider Luke 1:35: "...The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God." Here we see the Holy Spirit, the Father and the Son coupled together.

Several other verses unite together the names of the three Persons so we can be sure that the New Testament also does indeed declare the doctrine of the Trinity.

I don’t fully understand the Trinity either Mary, but I believe it because the Bible says so…

Jesus says that He is sitting at the right hand of the Father in heaven making intercession with us.
Thats a clear indication that in heaven they exist seperately. Soem say that is is just figurative, but I believe it is literal. Althought the Holy Spirit is a seperate "person",since He is Spirit he is not seen.
