PASTOR DERRELL WENT IN AND PRAYED WITH TIM YESTERDAY AND TODAY , THEY DID A CULTURE OF HIS BLOOD AND THE ANTIBOTICS ARE STARTING TO WORK ON THE MRSA INFECTION GLORY TO GOD. MY NEPHEW TIM

PASTOR DERRILL CHASTIEN FROM CC FIRST LIGHT WENT TO SEE TIM TODAY ALONG WITH MY SISTER IN TEXAS. PASTOR DERRELL HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST BLESSING TO MY FAMILY THANK GOD THAT NO MATTER WHERE WE ARE GOD HAS HIS PEOPLE TO THERE TO STRENTHEN EACH OTHER. MY SISTER SAID HE AND HIS WIFE AS A NICE AS CAN BE, I TOO TALKED TO HIM BY PHONE TONIGHT. THINGS FOR TIM DO NOT LOOK GOOD RIGHT NOW , THE DOCTORS SAID SOME DECISIONS NEED TO BE MADE. SO PASTOR DERRELL IS GOING UP THERE WITH MY SISTER TOMORROW AND TIMS WIFE AND HELP SEE THEM THROUGH THE DECESION MAKING . THE LATEST THING IS THAT TIMS BODY IS REALLY GOING DOWN FAST. AND NOW THEY NEED TO DECIDE WEATHER OR NOT TO TURN OFF THE LIFE SUPPORT. MY SISTER SAID TODAY THAT THE DOCTOR SAID THAT TIM PROBABLY WON'T MAKE IT MORE THAN 2 OR 3 DAYS AS IT IS NOW. BUT MY SISTER JAN SAID TODAY THAT TIM WAS ALERT AND KNEW WHO SHE WAS.

FATHER I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THEY CAN TURN OFF A MACHINE IF ONES MIND IS ALERT BUT I AM NOT THERE TO SEE ALL WHAT IS HAPPENING, I TRUST YOU AND TURN TIM OVER TO YOU. BECAUSE YOU ALONE KNOW WHAT IS BEST.

PRAY FOR CALVARY CAPO BEACH

I HESITATED PUTTING THIS UP..BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT A BUNCH OF BAD MOUTHING OF CALVARY ONLY PRAY FOR THEM AT THIS HARD TIME, ANY POST THAT ARE BASHING CALVARY WILL BE DELETED. THERE ARE OTHER BLOGS IF YOU WANT TO DO THAT.

A former youth pastor for the Capo Beach Calvary Church was arrested Thursday at his Dana Point home for allegedly having sex with a girl who was part of his junior high school ministry.

Daniel Pedroza Jr., 28, allegedly had sex with a girl between the ages of 14 and 18, said Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The girl told social workers she and Pedroza had sex between July and November in both of their homes, and the social workers contacted authorities.

Officials at the Capistrano Beach church became aware of the allegation and fired Pedroza, Amormino said.

Prosecutors plan to charge Pedroza with three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, two counts of oral copulation, one count of digital penetration, and a misdemeanor charge of child annoying, Amormino said.

A spokesperson for the church could not be reached for comment.

Pedroza was booked into the Orange County Jail on $100,000 bail.

UPDATE ON TIM

The Staph Infection has hit his heart and there is major damage to the heart
valves. they can not operate to repair them it would be fatal for sure. They are
going to try to drain some of the infections near his lungs to help him breathe
easier. His white blood cells did drop some which is good they were way to
high. still classified as critical and now with a 10 to 30 percent chance of
making it. he is still on life support and in a coma .

No I am not going to texas.

MAY BE GOING TO TEXAS

NOT SURE YET, BUT I MAY BE LEAVING FOR TEXAS TO SEE MY NEPHEW. THINGS ARE NOT GOING WELL. HE IS IN A COMA AND THE STAPH INFECTION IS SPREADING AND THEY MAY HAVE TO TAKE MORE OF HIS LEGS. HIS PNEUMONIA IS MUCH WORSE. THEY REALLY DON'T KNOW IF HE WILL MAKE IT AT THIS POINT. HE WAS DOING SOME BETTER BUT YESTERDAY TOOK A REAL TURN FOR THE WORSE. i AM TRYING TO SEE IF i CAN ARRANGE MY WORK SCHEDULE SO THAT i DON'T LOSE ANY MONEY AND IF MY SISTER CAN GET ME A PASS ON AMERICAN AIRLINES SHE WAS A FLIGHT ATTENDANT SO SHE MAY BE ABLE TO GET ONE. WE WILL SEE IF THINGS FALL IN PLACE IF NOT THEN IM NOT MENT TO GO.

UPDATE ON NEPHEW

MY SISTER JUST CALLED FROM TEXAS...TIM HAS TAKEN A SERIOUS TURN FOR THE WORSE THEY ARE CALLING IN THE FAMILY, HIS TWO SISTER ARE HERE IN CALIFORNIA AND ARE ON THERE WAY.

URGENT PRAYER PLEASE

MY NEPHEW WHO IS IN HIS 40'S IS IN THE HOSPITAL HE HAS DOUBLE PNEUMONIA ALSO HAS CONTRACTED A STAPH INFECTION KNOWN AS MRSA . WELL HIS FEET TURNED ALL BLACK AND THEY HAD TO AMPUTATE BOTH FEET FROM THE ANKLE DOWN. RIGHT NOW TIM HAS A 30 TO 50 PERCENT CHANCE OF MAKING IT HE IS ON A RESPERATOR . HE IS IN FORTH WORTH TEXAS. THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS.

MORNING EXERCISE MOTIVATION

Back From Orphanage

We had a great time yesterday and all the kids got shoes. We were able to get 92 kids a pair of tennis shoes for school. They were all so happy since all the usually get is hand me downs. I wish that all the Orange County kids could down and see how these kids live. I think it would make a big difference in all there whinning because maybe they dont have the latest video game or lasted I pod or things like that. These kids still go outside and play.. they play ball, jump rope. tag hide and go seek . and they are happy just to have a place to call home.

It was raining and cold there yesterday, so I did not go outside much i stayed in the big room with a lot of the kids I did not want to risk getting sick again, I just got my voice back and did not want to end up down again. but we had fun i colored pictures and listened as the kids laughed at me at my poor attempt to read to them in spanish, they finally ended up reading to me not that I understood it but it was fun to just to have them crawl up in my lap and read.

I do not have the word to express how much I love these kids. My heart hurts when I have to leave them.

Well all in all we had a good time.

GOING TO ORPHANAGE

TODAY I SPENT SORTING SHOES AND PACKING THEM UP TO TAKE TO THE KIDS IN MEXICO TOMORROW. WHAT A JOB 93 PAIRS OF SHOES. NOW I AM SITTING HOME WITH CHIP ICING A VERY SORE BACK WHAT A WAY TO SPEND YOUR BIRTHDAY HUH....OH WELL. LOOKS IT IS ME AND THE TV TONGIHT UP EARLY TO GO TO MEXICO. I CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE THE KIDS AGAIN THEY ARE ALL SO LOVING AND I JUST ADORE THEM.

PLEASE PRAY FOR A SAFE JOURNEY SINCE THERE IS STILL TENSIONS AT THE BORDER, BUT SO FAR GOD HAS KEPT US SAFE. AND I KNOW HE WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO.

TRIP TO URGENT CARE

I CALLED MY DOCTOR BECAUSE I COULD NOT TAKE A BREATH WITHOUT SEVERE PAIN AND COULD HARDLY GET MY BREATH. WELL HE SENT ME TO URGENT CARE NOT THE EMERGENCY ROOM, AND THEY TOOK A CHEST XRAY AND YOU GUESSED IT I HAVE PNUEMONIA OK I DID NOT SPELL THAT RIGHT, ANYWAY THEY PUT ME ON SOME DIFFERENT MEDS. HE SAID MY LUNGS ARE VERY CONGESTED NOT BAD ENOUGH TO BE IN THE HOSPITAL BUT HE SAID YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL OR YOU WILL BE.


PLEASE PRAY, I HAVE A PIANO RECITAL ON SATURDAY OF MY STUDENTS AND IT WOULD NOT BE GOOD IF THE TEACHER WAS IN THE HOSPITAL AND NOT AT THE RECITAL. MY NIECES HAVE ALREADY SAID THEY WILL DO ALL THE TALKING AT THE RECITAL LIKE INTRODUCING THE STUDENTS ETC. TO SAVE MY VOICE WELL AT THIS POINT THERE IS NO VOICE NOT EVEN A SQUEAK I HAD TO HAVE MY NIECE TALK TO THE DOCTOR ON THE PHONE.

WELL HE WAS ASKING ME ABOUT PROP 8 HERE IN CALIFORNIA AND HE SAID IM SURE YOU VOTED YES, WHICH I DID. GOD MADE MARRIAGE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN. WELL HE WAS SO UPSET AND SAID SOME REALLY MEAN THINGS TO ME. SAID I WAS A SELF APPOINTED CHRISTIAN AND THAT WE WHO VOTED YES DID SO TO PUNISH GAYS. WELL IT IS NOT UP TO ME OR ANYONE ELSE TO PUNISH ANYONE. jUDGEMENT IS FOR GOD ALONE. HE IS THE ONLY PERFECT JUDGE. HE TOLD ME TO GET OFF MY HIGH HORSE OF SELF RIGHTOUSNESS AND STOP ATTACKING GAYS. IT LOOKS TO ME THAT HE IS THE ONE WHO DID THE ATTACKING NOT ME I DID NOT EVEN BRING IT UP ONLY ANSWERED HONESTLY WHEN ASKED. A militant Hindu priest and 4 of his attendants, who were zealously going around the villages of Orissa and re- converting people back to Hinduism, were gunned down by unknown assailant Orissa last weekend. Immediately the Christians were blamed. The cry rose up...'Kill the Christians!' And the horror began....
In the past 4 days, we have first hand witness to hundreds of churches being blown up or burned and many, many dozens of Christian tribals have been slaughtered. For no other reason than they bear the name of Christ. Night and day I have been in touch with our Good News India Directors spread across 14 Dream Centers in Orissa... they are right in the middle of all this chaos. In Tihidi, just after the police came to offer protection, a group of 70 blood-thirsty militants came to kill our staff and destroy the home. They were not allowed to get in, but they did a lot of damage to our Dream Center by throwing rocks and bricks and smashing our gate, etc. They have promised to come back and 'finish the job'. Our kids and staff are locked inside and have stayed that way with doors and windows shut for the past 3 days. It has been a time of desperately calling on the Lord in prayer. More police have come to offer protection. In Kalahandi, the police and some local sympathizers got to our dream center and gave our staff and kids about 3 minutes notice to vacate. No one had time to even grab a change of clothes or any personal belonging. As they fled, the blood thirsty mob came into the building. We would have had a mass funeral there, but for His grace. In Phulbani, the mob came looking for Christian homes and missions. The local Hindu people, our neighbors turned them away by saying that there were no Christians in this area. So they left. We had favor. The same thing happened in Balasore. All our dream centers are under lock down with the kids and staff huddled inside and police outside. The fanatics are circling outside waiting for a
chance to kill. Others were not so fortunate. In a nearby Catholic orphanage, the mob allowed the kids to leave and locked up a Priest and a computer teacher in house and burned them to death. Many believers have been killed and hacked into pieces and left on the road.... even women and children. At another orphanage run by another organization, when this began, the Director and his wife jumped on their motorbike and simply fled, leaving all the children and staff behind. Every one of our GNI directors that I have spoken to said: 'We stay with our kids.... we live together or die together, but we will never abandon what God has called us to do' More than 5000 Christian families have had their homes burned or destroyed. They have fled into the jungles and are living in great fear waiting for the authorities to bring about peace. But so far, no peace is foreseen. This will continue for another 10 days....supposedly the 14 day mourning period for the slain Hindu priest. Many more Christians will die and their houses destroyed. Many more churches will be smashed down. The Federal government is trying to restore order and perhaps things will calm down We ask for your prayers. Only the Hand of God can calm this storm. None of us know the meaning of persecution. But now our kids and staff know what that means. So many of our kids com ing from Hindu backgrounds are confused and totally bewildered at what is happening around them. So many of their guardians have fled into the jungles and are unable to come and get them during these trying times. Through all this, I am more determined than ever to continue with our goal: the transformation of a community by transforming its children. Orissa will be saved... that is our heart's cry. If we can take these thousands of throw-away children and help them to become disciples of Jesus, they will transform an entire region. It is a long term goal, but it is strategic thinking in terms of the Great Commission. What can you do? First, please uphold all this in fervent prayer. Second, pass this e-mail on to as many friends as you can. We must get the word out and increase our prayer base for this is spiritual warfare at its most basic meaning. We are literally fighting the devil in order to live for His Kingdom. The next 10 days are crucial. We pray for peace and calm to pervade across Orissa. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Hi Friends,

My sister and my niece need some prayer right now. My niece Izabella went into the hospital over the weekend with a high fever and diarrhea. The doctors took some blood cultures, spinal tap and x-ray and they found that she has fluid around her kidney and a UTI. Still waiting for more results with the blood culture and spinal tap. They will be putting a pick (not sure how to spell it) but this will help the Dr.'s get blood more often instead of continuous poking for a vein. This pick will have to be put in with surgery. Izabella will not be leaving the hospital for at least 7-10 days and will need to be transported to a Children's Hospital. Please keep my sister Ashley in prayer since she is 21 and her first baby- you can understand the stress, anxiety and fear that would take place. Please pray that she would have the Lord's peace. As for Izabella, please pray for quick recovery and to go home soon. Also pray that my sister would have more discernment with who she let's the baby be held by (sick neighbors). I guess my protective auntie-ness is coming out!

Back From Mexico

WE HAD A GREAT TRIP TO THE ORPHANAGE YESTERDAY. IT WAS GREAT TO SEE THE KIDS AND TO GET AWAY FROM EVERYTHING HERE IN CALIFORNIA. AWAY FROM PEOPLE PROTESTING OVER PROP 8, HERE THEY PROTEST. AND WE HAVE EVERYTHING I GO TO MEXICO AND THEY ARE HAPPY EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE NOTHING. ON OUR WAY BACK WE SAW SOME PROTESTERS AND IT MADE ME SO MAD. IF THEY SAW WHAT I JUST SAW MAYBE THEY WOULD ACT DIFFERENTLY. THESE PRECIOUS PRECIOUS KIDS DOWN THERE WERE DRYING THEIR HAIR WITH PAPER TOWELS. BECAUSE THEY NEED A SIMPLE BATH TOWEL DOWN THERE. AND PEOPLE UP HERE PROTEST BECAUSE THEY CAN'T LIVE IN SIN.

For months now my email Inbox has been besieged by nearly hysterical warnings about what will happen if Barack Obama becomes President. I have been encouraged to be worried, afraid, concerned, prepared for disaster, and a whole host of other maladies if this happens. I do not deny the importance of this election, but it seems to me that we need a dose of perspective. So here, on the eve of the election, I would like to start my own email concerning this election. I AM HAPPY HOWEVER THAT CALIFONIA VOTED TO KEEP MARRIAGE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN. THANK GOD FOR THAT. EVEN THOUGH NOW SOME WANT TO CHALLENGE THE VOTE.

Just Came on to Say Hi

I have not been as active on the internet as I have been, I have been spending alot of time alone, which may or may not be good. Mostly taking care of my infected foot which at this point is still pretty bad, it feel like I am walking on a big rock in my foot and it is still pretty red and swollen, still can not put on a shoe so i have it bandaged and put a sock over it to do my lessons then come home soak it put medicine on it a put it up at night. It really does not look much better I thought it did but the doctor said no.

Like I said about a week ago I have had a major set back with my depression that is why I have been staying away more, just been on enough to let people know I am still around. It has been a real battle and have not said much about it because frankly I don't know how to explain what is going on. Last time I put on here my battle with depression I got a rather strong email saying that I am not trusting God and that I needed to repent of letting depression get ahold of me. No it was not any one who post here on a regular basis.

I have also been doing a lot of reading on forgivness and praying about the attitude of my heart on a cetain issue as some of you know. I want my heart to forgive. And I have said Lord I forgive these two people, but sometimes I feel guilty because I still feel the pain and hurt of it all especially when I see one person. Well anyway I don't want to talk in circles those of you who know me know what i am talking about. But Like I said I do forgive Just have to deal with the feeling i have.

Dear Saddleback Family,



Kay and I, and our entire family are deeply grateful for your prayers for Jaime and her battle with a brain tumor. Below is a brief report of this past week along with the scripture verse I've focused on each day. Thanks for sharing this burden with us. You might want to save these verses for when YOU need them.



SATURDAY

Jaime was hospitalized for blurred vision, instability, and headaches. A CT Scan revealed a massive tumor at the base of her brain.

"Lord, when doubts fill my mind, when my heart is in turmoil, quiet me and give me renewed hope and cheer." Psalm 94:19 (Living)



SUNDAY

My 25 year old daughter-in-law, Jaime, (Josh's wife) is facing her second life-threatening health crisis in less than two months. Seven weeks ago, Jaime went into labor five weeks early. They discovered the baby was in the breech position and an emergency C-section was ordered because the baby's heart rate began to drop. Cole was not breathing when he was born, and it took great skill from the medical personnel to resuscitate him.



MONDAY

A day for testing. The MRI revealed a very serious and complex vascular tumor and hydrocephalus. There is debate about the type of tumor and much concern about the best procedure to use.

"God will shield you with his wings! They will shelter you. His faithful promises are your armor. Now you don't need to be afraid of the dark any more, nor fear the dangers of the day; nor dread the plagues of darkness, nor disasters in the morning." Psalm 91:4-6 (Living)



TUESDAY

After getting 3 professional opinions on the nature of the tumor, we've moved Jaime to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. The UCLA chief of neurosurgery has taken Jaime's case because of its risk and complexity. An angiogram today provided more information but because of the tumor's location and connection to vital blood supply, doctors are unable to perform a procedure they hoped to do before the surgery.

"The righteous do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly." Psalm 112:6-8 (NLT)



WEDNESDAY 10 AM

Jaime was just rolled into the operating room for her 16 hour brain surgery. We now know the premature birth and emergency C-section of Cole likely saved Jaime's life. She could have died pushing in a normal delivery. What we often think is a problem (at that moment) is often a protection.

"Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord is the one who goes before you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor forsake you." Deut. 31:8 (NLT)



WEDNESDAY NIGHT 11 pm

Hour 13 of Jaime's surgery. We are told the tumor is tangled with all of the nerves on the left side of her brain, pushing its way into the brain. We are praying that Jaime's life will be spared, the tumor will be successfully removed, and there will be no damage to her eyesight or permanent loss of movement.

"The prayer that is said with faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will heal that person." James 5:15 (NCV)



THURSDAY 6 AM

After almost 20 hours, Jaime leaves the operating room. She'll now be in recovery for several hours. She may sleep for a couple of days due to the strong anesthesia given.

"When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you." Isaiah 43:2 (NLT)



THURSDAY 10:30 AM

VERY BAD NEWS. A post-op CT Scan shows that Jaime is bleeding internally and building pressure on her brain. This is life-threatening, so doctors must go back to the operating room, reopen the wound, find the cause of the bleeding, and stop it. This will take another 4 ½ hours.

"We do not know what to do, but we are looking to you for help." 2 Chron. 20:12 (NLT)



THURSDAY 3 PM

The second surgery stops two areas of internal bleeding. The doctor frankly discusses the possible long term damage.

"Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will listen to their cries and comfort them. Psalm 10:17 (NLT)



THURSDAY 5 PM

Josh just got to see Jaime for the first time in 32 hours. It was only 30 seconds but she opened her eyes. She is on a breathing machine and can't speak but can move all four of her extremities. The next 24 hours will be extremely critical. Our family is all worn out too.

Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 (NLT)



FRIDAY AM

Please pray that Jaime will have a full recovery, with no long-term complications. Pray that her life will be an example of the truth that God's purpose for our lives is greater than any problem we face. Pray the doctors and nurses will be touched by the witness of her life.



"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Matthew 21:22



"Pray that our Lord will make us strong and give us peace." Psalm 29:11



"Pray for us that God will give us an opportunity to tell people his message." Colossians 4:3

Posting these means that I really have nothing to say. or at least nothing to important.

1. The choir invites any member of the congregation who enjoys sinning to join the choir.

2. This afternoon there will be a meeting in the south and north ends of this church. Children will be baptized at both ends.

3. Wednesday the Ladies Literary Society will meet. Mrs. Johnson will sing, "Put me in My Little Bed", accompanied by the Pastor.

4. Thursday at 5 p. m. there will be a meeting of the Little Mothers Club. All wishing to become little mothers will please meet the pastor in the study.

5. The outreach committee has enlisted 25 visitors to make calls on people who are not afflicted with any church.

6. This being Easter Sunday, we will ask Mrs. Brown to come forward and lay an egg on the altar.

7. The ladies of the church have cast off clothing of every kind and they can be seen in the church basement on Friday afternoon.

8. At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic will be "What is Hell?" Come early and listen to our choir practice.

9. Tonight's Sermon: What is hell? Come early and listen to our choir practice.

10. Evening massage - 6 p. m.

11. The pastor would appreciate it if the ladies of the congregation would lend him their electric girdles for the pancake breakfast next Sunday morning.

13. Our annual church picnic will be held Saturday afternoon. If it rains, it will be held in the morning.

31. The Ladies Society will be selling their new cookbook at the church supper this Wednesday night. The proceeds will help purchase a stomach pump for our community hospital.

my back is hurting so bad right now. My brother in law got drunk and started to go after one of the kids and I stepped in and he pushed so hard i went to the floor and really pulled my back. I went to the urgent care and they took xrays and said they believe it is just pulled musles but with my weight a fall like that could of caused more damage then they can see right now he wants me to go for an mri this week,

‘Fair’ Warning to Palin

Well, don’t say she hasn’t been warned.



Sarah Palin cannot make even one mistake in Thursday’s debate or she will be cooked.



George Stephanopoulos said so Monday on ABC’s Good Morning America:



Picking up on what Kevin Madden said in David Wright’s piece: Number one for Sarah Palin, she cannot make a mistake. A major mistake particularly on foreign policy would be absolutely fatal to her candidacy.



Good Morning America, like NBC’s Today Show and CBS’ The Early Show, played clips of Tina Fey doing her mocking impersonation of Palin on Saturday Night Live. When did comic impersonations become news?



And what about Palin’s opponent, Joe Biden? What if he makes a gaffe, as he is wont to do? Last week, Biden said in a speech that, “When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television” to calm the nation. The stock market crashed in 1929, before TV and before Roosevelt was president.



No problem. The liberal media have Joe’s back and won’t make a big deal of it. Palin made no notable errors last week, yet she was still the one to be savaged. It’s a pity Saturday Night Live can’t remove their ideological blinders. What a great skit Biden might have inspired! Imagine Bill Murray coming back to portray Biden: “It’s just like when George Washington climbed up on a tank to rally the troops at Gettysburg…”



Back to reality. During Thursday’s debate, the press will be listening so hard for a Palin version of “macaca” that they probably won’t even hear what Joe has to say.



“Macaca” was the word that helped sink the re-election campaign of Virginia Republican Sen. George Allen in 2006. He had used the word, which means “monkey” in some African nations, jokingly to describe a Democratic operative tracking his campaign events. Allen said his mother used to call him that when he messed up, the equivalent of “rascal.” No matter. The media decided that because the Democratic staffer was of Indian ancestry, macaca was an openly racist term, just the thing a sitting U.S. Senator would say in a racially diverse state like Virginia. The Washington Post in particular beat up Allen with macaca for the next month, using the term dozens of times. Allen never recovered and Jim Webb narrowly won his Senate seat.



Here’s the rule of thumb: When a liberal misspeaks, it’s a slip of the tongue. We all make mistakes. If you are a conservative, however, you commit an unforgivable sin that must be revisited a thousand times until you are out of Purgatory – or office, whichever comes first.



On Friday, Barack Obama made two mistakes that the media would have used to crucify McCain had he made similar errors.



First, Obama misstated that Henry Kissinger would support meeting enemies like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad without preconditions. Even when McCain corrected him, Obama repeated the point. Immediately after the debate, Kissinger issued a statement that rebutted Obama in no uncertain terms. Gotcha! The media’s reaction? Snore. Bury that sucker in reams of copy.



Another suitable moment for carving into a media bat came after John McCain showed his metal bracelet worn in memory of Cpl. Matthew Stanley, who was killed in Iraq. Obama noted that he, too, wore a bracelet for a fallen soldier. Then he forgot the name of Sgt. Ryan David Jopek and had to look down and read it.



It’s not awful, and could happen to anybody, but can anyone honestly imagine that the media would have ignored this had McCain been the forgetful one? Another wrinkle: Jopek’s mother, an Obama supporter who had given him the bracelet, had e-mailed the Obama campaign and asked Obama not to use her son’s name in either speeches or debates. As Newsbusters’ Warner Todd Huston reported, the AP said Sunday that she had, indeed, asked him not to do this, but had been okay with how Obama presented it during the televised debate. Again, imagine what the media would have done had McCain been asked by a parent not to invoke a deceased son’s name and then done so?



CMI just released a new special report, ‘Character’ the Most Important Issue in the Presidential Primary Debates. One striking finding was that the media asked the Democrats nearly twice as many “softball” questions as they asked Republicans. Republicans got 25 percent softballs, Democrats 48 percent.



Being a liberal in a political campaign is a bit like being a cornerback in a fixed football game. He can take cheap shots at receivers all day, knowing the referees will never call him on it. Or the favored quarterback can throw all the bombs he wants, knowing that if one is picked off, the refs will find a way to nullify the play.



Sarah Palin had better be on her game Thursday, because the scribes are sharpening their poison pens and polishing their gun sights, otherwise known as cameras. They’ll be ready to draw more blood than a bite from an Alaskan mosquito.


As for Joe, he can take comfort in the knowledge that his next gaffe won’t have a long shelf life, and that he can sit back, Biden his time.

THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS HAVE BEEN HARD WITH DEPRESSION. BUT I DON'T WANT TO GIVE INTO IT. I LIKE PRAISE AND WORSHIP MUSIC WHEN I FEEL THIS WAY. I WOULD RATHER CONCENTRATE ON JESUS AND ALL HE HAS DONE FOR ME THAN THE DEPRESSION. IM NOT SAYING I HAVE ARRIVED AT THAT PLACE TOTALLY BUT IM WORKING ON IT.

GOD'S PEACE IS AMAZING

THIS WEEKEND AS YOU KNOW A MAN FROM MICHIGAN CAME THAT IS REALLY UNWELCOME COMPANY AND MONDAY NIGHT I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM TUSTIN TO MY HOME WHICH IS ABOUT 20 MILES AND THIS MAN WAS FOLLOWING ME, WHICH MEANT HE MUST HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING ME ALL DAY OR ELSE HOW WOULD HE KNOW I WAS IN TUSTIN DOING A LESSON. AT FIRST I THOUGHT I WAS JUST BEING PARANOID BUT THEN I SAW IT WAS HIM. . I WAS CAREFUL BUT DID NOT GO INTO A PANIC ATTACK WHICH AS MOST OF YOU KNOW THAT IS GOD AT WORK NORMALLY THAT WOULD BE ENOUGH TO CAUSE PANIC IN ME. BUT I FELT A PEACE LIKE HE ONLY WANTS TO MESS WITH MY HEAD AND DOES NOT MEAN ME ANY PHYSICAL HARM , EITHER I AM LEARNING TO TRUST GOD MORE OR IM JUST CRAZY. BECAUSE NORMALLY I WOULD BE FREAKING OUT.

GOD HAS SHOWN HIMSELF FAITHFUL IN SO MANY AREAS OF MY LIFE LATELY, I THINK THIS MAN COMING WAS JUST A ATTACK OF THE ENEMY TO TRY TO MAKE ME DOUBT GOD..WELL NOT THIS TIME PAL GOD HAS BEEN TO FAITHFUL TO DOUBT HIM NOW. AM I SAYING LIFE IS PERFECT AND ALL MY BILLS ARE PAID HECK NO.... BUT I KNOW GOD WILL MAKE A WAY..... IM STILL BEHIND BUT GOD IS PROVIDING WORK, WHICH HAS HELPED ME WITH SOME OF DEPRESSION I AM BETTER OFF MENTALLY WHEN I AM BUSY AND NOT SO MUCH TIME ON MY HANDS.

MY STRONG TOWER

IF EVER I HAVE NEEDED A STRONG TOWER IT IS NOW. I KEEP THINKING OVER AND OVER OF THE VERSE THAT SAYS THE NAME OF THE LORD IS A STRONG TOWER THE RIGHTEOUS RUN INTO IT AND ARE SAVED. OK MAYBE NOT A EXACT QUOTE OR IS THAT A SONG NOT SURE. BUT IT HAS BEEN GOING OVER AND OVER IN MY MIND THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS.

THE LAST FEW DAYS HAVE BROUGHT A LOT OF FEAR INTO MY MIND AND HAS CAUSED MANY PANIC ATTACKS. KINDA A BLAST FROM THE PAST BUT NOT IS A GOOD WAY. PANIC TRIED TO KEEP ME HOME TODAY BUT I WAS ABLE TO GO TO CHURCH.

I HAVE TO CONFESS HERE. I HAVE BEEN READING AND READING AND PRAYING ALOT HERE THIS WEEKEND ABOUT A SITUATION THAT CAME UP HERE. BUT AS MUCH AS I TAKE COMFORT IN THE WORD IT HAS BEEN GOOD JUST TO TALK IN EMAILS TO A COUPLE OF PASTORS I KNOW AND THE WIFE OF ONE. SOMETIMES I HOPE THIS IS NOT WRONG TO SAY. BUT I BELIEVE IN READING THE WORD AS MUCH AS ANYONE, BUT SOMETIMES YOU JUST NEED TO TALK. BEING ALONE HERE SO MUCH I DON'T GET MUCH OF A CHANCE TO DO THAT. EXCEPT WHEN I TALK VIA EMAIL AND OF COURSE I TALK TO CHIP YES I TALK TO MY BIRD . HE DOES NOT GOSSIP. I AM HAVING A HARDER TIME WITH THIS THAN I WANT TO ADMIT. I HAD NIGHTMARES OF THE PAST LAST NIGHT ALL BECAUSE SOMEONE SHOWED UP AT MY HOUSE. WELL ANYWAY. I WOULD LIKE TO THINK I AM STRONGER THAN I AM. THIS HAS REALLY SHATTERED MY NERVES. Evangelist's Arkansas compound raided in porn case; children being interviewed

FOUKE, Ark. (Associated Press) -- Federal authorities conducting a child-porn investigation raided the headquarters Saturday of a ministry run by a convicted tax evader once labeled by prosecutors as a polygamist who preys on girls and women.

Social workers interviewed children who live at the Tony Alamo Christian Ministries complex, which critics call a cult, to find out whether they were abused. The two-year investigation involves a law that prohibits the transportation of children across state lines for criminal activity, said Tom Browne, who runs the FBI office in Little Rock.

"Children living at the facility may have been sexually and physically abused," Browne said.

The raid, conducted by state and federal authorities, started an hour before sunset at the complex in tiny Fouke, in southwestern Arkansas. Armed guards regularly patrol the headquarters, but there was no resistance as agents moved in, state police said.

No one was arrested, but U.S. Attorney Bob Balfe said before the raid that he expected an arrest warrant for Alamo to be issued later. The federal investigation centered on the production of child pornography, while state police were looking into allegations of other child abuse, he said.

In a phone call to The Associated Press from a friend's house in the Los Angeles area, Tony Alamo _ who was also once accused of child abuse _ denied involvement in pornography.

"We don't go into pornography; nobody in the church is into that," Alamo said. "Where do these allegations stem from? The anti-Christ government. The Catholics don't like me because I have cut their congregation in half. They hate true Christianity."

About 100 state and federal law officers raided the 15-acre compound housing the ministry, which the Southern Poverty Law Center describes as a cult that opposes homosexuality, Catholicism and the government. The law center monitors the activities of extremist groups in the U.S.

The ministry's Web site says it is "dedicated to spreading the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and the winning of souls worldwide."

John Selig, head of the Arkansas Department of Human Services, said state workers were talking to children.

A passenger van with about 12 people inside left the compound heading for Texarkana with a police escort shortly after 8 p.m. It appeared some of those inside were children, but Selig said he didn't know whether any children would be taken into state custody.

Police said the Alamo church complex would be allowed to open for Sunday services, although officers did not indicate when the search would end.

Alamo's church is in a single-story building that used to be a convenience store. A white cross stands atop the structure, with a small steeple to the right side.

Alamo and his wife Susan were street preachers along Hollywood's Sunset Strip in 1966 before forming a commune near Saugus, Calif. Susan Alamo died of cancer in 1982 and Alamo claimed she would be resurrected and kept her body on display for six months while their followers prayed.

In 1988, following a raid near Santa Ana, Calif., three boys whose mothers were Alamo followers were placed in the custody of their fathers. Justin Miller, then 11, told police that Alamo directed four men to strike him 140 times with a wooden paddle as punishment for minor offenses. Alamo was charged with child abuse.

The California Attorney General's office eventually cleared Alamo and his followers of the accusations.

In 1991, federal agents raided Alamo's complex near Alma and seized designer jackets the ministry sold to raise money; former Alamo followers had won a $1.8 million judgment against him. At the same time, the IRS said Alamo owed the government $7.9 million and later won the evangelist's conviction in federal court.

The judge in the tax case ordered him held pending sentencing after prosecutors argued that the evangelist was a flight risk and a polygamist who preyed on married women and girls in his congregation. U.S. District Judge Jon McCalla said he was concerned over "the very great control Mr. Alamo has over a number of people."

Alamo told the AP on Saturday that he believed the raid was part of a push by the federal government to make same-sex marriage legal while outlawing polygamy.

Alamo said he thought polygamy was allowed in the Bible but said he did not practice it himself. He also said that "consent is puberty" when it comes to sex.

There had been complaints about the ministry since Alamo arrived in Fouke in the late 1990s, said Terry Purvis, mayor of the town of about 850 residents. He has gotten calls from former ministry members with allegations of child abuse, polygamy and underage marriage, he said.

Purvis said he turned over all the complaints to the FBI.
